India vs Bangladesh 1st T20I: Bangladesh veteran batsman Tamim Iqbal on Saturday withdrew his name from the upcoming India tour. The selectors have replaced Imrul Kayes in the squad for the three-match International T20 series starting on November 3. However, it is not yet clear whether Kayes will be selected in the Indian team for the two-match Test series starting on November 14, as Tamim Iqbal has reported playing in the second Test. “Tamim had already informed us that he will play the second Test in Kolkata but now he will be with his wife for the coming weeks,”
Bangladesh’s chief selector Minhaul Abedin was quoted as saying. Iqbal’s wife is going to have a second child, due to which he will not go to India.
Earlier, there was a crisis in this round due to a dispute between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the players. However, the board accepted the players’ demands and the crisis averted.
