Reliance Jio tops in Average download speed, Idea tops in this category

Vodafone’s uploading speed was 5.1 Mbps in December, which was 4.9 Mbps in November. Apart from this, Jio’s uploading speed was 4.3 Mbps in December, which was raised to 4.5 Mbps in November. Reliance Jio tops in Average download speed, Idea tops in this category

Reliance Jio’s average 4G download speed dropped by eight percent to 18.7 Mbps (megabit per second) in December. Despite this, company has remained at the top of this category for the past 12 months. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data, Idea remained top of the 4G upload speed. The average upload speed was 5.3 Mbps in December, which was 5.6 Mbps in November. The performance of the company’s network is a little worse.

Vodafone and Idea have merged together and they are doing business with name of Vodafone Idea. But TRAI has released data of both the companies separately. Vodafone’s average 4G download speed has declined to 6.3 Mbps and Idea has the speed of 6 Mbps. Bhartiya Airtel’s 4G network performance improved in December. In December 2018, its average download speed was 9.8 Mbps.

TRAI raises the data related to the speed of all the companies through its MySpid portal. Based on these data, it calculates the average download and upload speed of the companies. Jio’s average download speed was 20.3 Mbps in November. During this time, the speed of Airtel was 9.7 Mbps, Vodafone’s 6.8 Mbps, and Idea’s speed was 6.2 Mbps.
