From Gautam Gambhir to Deepa Malik, is now a full-time active politician. A few days ago, the former veteran cricketer Gautam Gambhir has joined the BJP too. 48-year-old Deepa Malik is Divyang. She won the Silver Medal in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.

Deepa Malik joined the party in the presence of BJP’s Haryana unit chief Subhash Barla and in-charge of state affairs, Anil Jain. The party declared that the party organization will be strengthened by her arrival. Deepa is from Haryana and she is the first Indian women athlete to win a medal in Paralympic Games.

Anil Jain said, ‘We welcome her in the party. She is the source of inspiration for all of us. She has made the country proud.

“The BJP has yet to announce the candidates in Haryana for the Lok Sabha elections. Sources said that the name of Malik can be considered.

Along with Deepa Malik Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLA Kehar Singh Rawat has also joined the BJP.
